At Rest Space we believe that people are the backbone of any business, and we want to empower them to be the best version of themselves. After years of struggling to find a place to recharge in the workplace, we’ve created the best space to rest.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese capsule hotels with their fully enclosed space and acknowledging the need for a place of rest within offices, we’ve designed innovative workplace rest spaces. Through taking the time to talk to people, we’ve found that providing napping facilities on the job is the most consistently recommended solution to helping employees with fatigue.
Our first product, the soundproof [RestSpace], is designed with real people in mind. It offers a flexible solution to taking 20-minutes rest, which has proven to increase productivity by 34%. We prioritise employee privacy and comfort whilst also maximising the space within the workplace through our unique rest spaces offer fully enclosed spaces which are also stackable pods. It’s engineered from sustainable materials, offers voiced controlled lighting and sounds and is backed by data-driven support to help employees to be healthy, productive, happy, focused and more rested.
We believe in user comfort whether that's in appealing to people with invisible illnesses who struggle to make it through the typical work day without a rest, or just curating a safe and private space within the workplace for any employee. We want to provide a bit of peace, sanctuary and calm at work.
We know how great it feels to wake up rejuvenated after a nap so we want to provide that boost of energy and productivity within a busy work environment. We want to inspire fresh ideas, positive attitudes and refresh employees through the power of napping.
We want businesses and users to feel good about how we operate. That means being accessible and transparent. We put people and the planet first because we care about doing things the right way. We want our rest spaces to be used for the right reasons - for the betterment of people and businesses.

We empower people to make the choices they need to improve their well-being by making the latest understanding accessible and actionable.
Despite utilising the latest sleep tech, we put familiarity first with a feel at home environment within the rest spaces. We know napping comes easier when it’s somewhere you feel familiar. We avoid futuristic designs and stick to warm, familiar aesthetics.

Who are we?
Computer Science graduate who moved on to an exciting career in finance and organization transformation. Prior to this Kate has 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Throughout all of this remaining a napping at work advocate and practitioner.
Biomedical graduate with an International Health Management masters who moved on to a fast-paced career in pharmaceutical market research & consulting. Prior to this Supa has 10+ years of management experience in the service industry. All of this achieved through brilliance and secret napping.
What's the story behind [Rest Space]?
Co-Founder Kate Mulligan conceived of Rest Space when she realised that she wasn’t the only one who loved napping. In fact, working in finance - juggling late nights and early morning starts - these naps were a necessary way to get through the working day. And it wasn’t just her, colleagues expressed similar sentiments, but when she searched for the best locations to nap in Canary Wharf the only thing that came up was recommendations for people at work to nap in the toilets.
The stigma of workplace napping makes employees feel like they have to hide their napping, but Kate began openly talking about napping at work. People began to share how professionally and socially beneficial napping was to them. And the research is pretty clear too - napping is good for you and has numerous health and personal benefits.
Co-Founders Kate and Supa dug into that research and were shocked to discover just how valuable napping is - that’s when they decided to create spaces for people to nap and tackle the stigma associated with it. They recognised that workplaces are placing an importance on employee wellbeing and rest spaces are crucial for that, especially in our non-stop lives. And so - Rest Space was born.
